So it has been a LONG time since I've updated my site, put out a new recording, or pretty much done anything, So, where have I been? Here is the short and simple version. About four and a half years ago, shortly after completing my M.M. in Music Performance at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, I moved to Long Island. I was very excited at the time to introduce myself to new people and audiences, get to writing for the next album, and live in a new place. Well, after living on Long Island for only one month, my guitar was destroyed by my landlord, trust me- LONG STORY! So with the loss of my instrument and the shock of living in such a difficult part of the country, I basically stopped playing and writing for a little over 2 years. In order to make a living, I worked at a small, freely distributed music magazine called "the Inside Connection". While working there, i had the opportunity to meet many great people within the music industry like William Bay of Mel Bay Publishing and Dave Mills of Mills Acoustics. It was an amazing experience to learn different aspects of this incredible industry. Eventually, I began to take on private students and develop a strong reputation throughout Long Island for my teaching. I eventually got around to buying a new guitar, a 2008 "Almeria" from Kenny Hill. Kenny is a great and patient person, and did a wonderful job setting the guitar up in a "Flamenco" manner, golpeador and all! In 2009 I married my amazing wife, Diana, who's my greatest supporter. With her motivation, I have gotten around to writing and practicing again. She and I formed "The Miriam Duo" (violin and guitar) and have been performing at weddings on Long Island. Currently, I am writing and programing for my next album, which I hope to begin recording for in 2011. Also, I am the co-founder of "The Arcane Guitar Duo" with Jason Mainville. Thank you to all who have continued to listen to my music and kept in touch with me over the years! I look forward to sharing my love of the guitar with you again soon!
